Artificial Waterfalls As A Garden Water Feature

Artificial Waterfalls As A Garden Water Feature

Backyard waterfalls - artificial rock waterfall

Constructing a waterfall from real rocks is an acquired skill, and a professional job is probably best to get that done properly, especially on a large scale. But what if you just want to quickly install a small artificial waterfall in the backyard to make it more interesting; and to bring the refreshing sounds of falling water? That is really no problem these days. Artificial ponds, and to a lesser extent waterfalls, abound in the garden stores and online.

Colorade garden or backyard waterfalls

When artificial ponds and waterfalls first appeared on the market a few decades ago they were plainly not real rocks, but things have improved a fair bit since then. Today's good quality garden and backyard waterfalls are superbly designed and made, using the latest techniques and materials, to look realistic. At a glance, some can even pass as looking like real rock, especially as they weather, your plants start to surround them, and the water makes its own coloring impact on the artificial rock.

Those waterfalls pictured on this page (courtesy of Simply Fountains) are all made from high density urethane foam, but that hardly notices as your yard centerpiece, suitably surrounded by plants, flowers and shrubs, takes on its role of water haven provider outside your window. With your window open, you will even hear the soothing and relaxing flow of the water as it cascades down the "rocks" into the pool below.
